インディアンは嘘をつかない

"Ten Little Indians"という歌がありますよね。。

「ひーとり、ふーたり、さんにん居るよ〜」で始まり、

だんだん増えて行って１０人になった後

逆に、減っていくわけで。。

一見単純な童謡に聴こえますが

あれは

白人がインディアンに遭遇していく過程の前半

そして

彼らを虐殺していく後半を表しているのだ、と世界史の授業で教わりました。
